2020 –Metamorphosis Series: Three Phases of Transformation in Beirut

Metamorphosis explores the transformation of human experience through three distinct phases of change — expressed through contrasting materials that move from opacity to transparency. The work transitions from hard, opaque metal to translucent plexiglass, symbolizing the passage from density to lightness, and the transcendence of form into spiritual blooming. Reflecting on identity, materiality, and evolution, Metamorphosis captures the dialogue between matter and soul within Beirut’s ever-evolving artistic landscape.

2018 – Sculpture, Kuberneto (Exhibited at the Institut Français & Lebanese University)

Kuberneto delves into the alienation of humanity in the modern age, confronting the complex relationship between human consciousness and the mechanical world that surrounds it. Through sculptural expression, the work reflects on the ways technology reshapes perception, emotion, and connection, often blurring the boundary between the organic and the artificial. By merging industrial forms with symbolic abstraction, Kuberneto becomes a meditation on how progress can both empower and isolate — revealing the fragile tension between human essence and the machine-driven rhythm of contemporary life.

📰 Featured in L’Orient Le Jour (October 27, 2018) “Through
Kuberneto , Zena Ghossoub evokes the alienation of modern man by technology and machines, as well as their impact on our society.”
